A new event for Somerset!
UP TO 10,000 VISITORS EXPECTED FOR ONE OF SOMERSET’S NEWEST MAJOR EVENTS
The new Somerset Military Tattoo, sponsored by Pardoes, Agusta Westland, MercedesBenz South West, Higher Sites Group, Somerset Life and One Step Recruitment is set to become one of the major outdoor events in the county with the inaugural running of the Tattoo on Saturday 14th September.
The idea for the Tattoo came to fruition following the success of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration held by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity in Vivary Park, Taunton in the summer of 2012. Expectations for a repeat event were running high and so the charity decided it would seem fitting to bring together a collection of bands, displays and attractions with a wider military theme that could be enjoyed by all as a great ‘Family Day Out’. It is hoped the event will help to raise awareness of the work that ABF The Soldiers’ Charity do to support soldiers and their families. This comes at a time when more and more Army Families are turning to them for help and assistance.
A great day out
ABF The Soldiers Charity consider it our duty to look after the brave men and women who risk their lives for our country and are now suffering hardship, both physical and psychological. The organisers of the Somerset Military Tattoo are pleased to be working in association with the Taunton based Royal Marines Charity, Go Commando to bring this event together for the enjoyment of all.
Nigel Muers-Raby of event sponsors Pardoes Solicitors, commented ‘We are so delighted to be part of this exciting event for Somerset. We are expecting it to be extremely popular, raise awareness and funds for the nominated charities and for it to become established as a major event in the summer events calendar for the region. We are indeed grateful to our sponsors and supporters who have got behind the organisers to support and promote this event, a true celebration of the Armed Forces and Public Services in Somerset’
